Our properties in De Haan

De Haan is the most characterful seaside resort on the Belgian Coast. Its historic quarter, the Concession, is a protected garden-city development with white Belle Époque villas, wide tree-lined avenues and manicured lawns. What makes De Haan truly unique is that no high-rise buildings are allowed. While the rest of the coast grew denser over the decades, De Haan kept its distinctive character. Albert Einstein stayed here in 1933, fleeing the Nazi regime.

The beach is wide and gentle, and the coastal tram runs through the village, stopping right in front of the historic tram station from 1902. In the dunes behind the beach lies the Royal Golf Club Ostend, one of the oldest golf clubs in Belgium, with a course that winds through the Spanjaard dunes. The neighbourhoods of Wenduine, Vosseslag and Klemskerke belong to the same municipality, each with its own quiet atmosphere and walking paths through the polders.

Holiday homes in De Haan are often genuine Belle Époque villas and dune houses, sometimes large family homes with a garden. The choice is smaller than in Ostend or Blankenberge, but those who stay here have deliberately chosen calm, style and character. Ideal for couples, families who would rather avoid the fairground attractions, and golfers.
